The Floating Castle
Where there is man, there is culture. Our culture should be in a state that could be seen everywhere, including block, traditional building, craftwork, and so on, as a bridge connecting the city and people.
The existence of Traditional culture and modern culture is the key to a city. But sadly, the existence of such state has become more and more blurred. Our Traditional and culture has been replaced by modern culture which symbolizes disappearance/vanishing culture.
It’s the time for us to re-examine the relationship between city and the people, culture and the city, and the relationship between people and culture.
What is the relationship between man and the city? What can we do to safeguard these various cultures that have been gradually forgotten?
The buildings in my work was formed fragment of memories, like a patchwork.
For me, gauze symbolizes self-healing as we use gauze when we are injured.
Our culture and traditional, relationship between people and people (trust between us) are injured and require care and attention from us to recover.
I hope we can be more sensibility to our life, to embrace the people we meet.
We are uncertainties on connections and spaces between people that may trigger various imagination and inner feelings that can lead ineffable personal feelings and memories. The space/ground and the memories we share are bound us together.
